2nd event Let’s know rural areas successfully finished! Due to the still current pandemic caused by the corona virus, this event, like the previous one, had to be held online. The event was organized from 18th to 20th of March 2021 via online Zoom video-conference platform where joined 108 attendees. More people was participating through one profile so it is estimated that there were more than 120 people present at the event.

The host of this event was the Municipality of Sopronkovesd from Hungary. During all three days of the event, the hosts managed to present their place and the local community with the help of various video materials and presentations.

A great contribution to the event was made by professors, especially Professor Csila Obadovics, the researcher at Hungarian Demographic Research Institute and the professor at the University of Sopron.

On the second day of the event, a virtual workshop was held where all participants were divided into groups through breakout rooms. The task was to make a SWOT analysis on the topic of youth in rural areas – what can keep them and what causes young people to leave rural areas? Every group presented one of the segmet of SWOT analysis (Strengths,  Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). The results of this workshop will be implemented in developing EFYRA study, which is also the main goal of this project.

Also, participants had the opportunity to get to know the Municipality from the youth point of view form a young representative of the Municipality of Sopronkovesd Máté Deák.
